Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, who previously said that a nuclear attack on the Gaza Strip was “one of the possibilities”, explained his words after criticism from the authorities. The politician published his words on the social network X.

“All sensible people understand that the statement about a nuclear bomb is metaphorical. However, a strong response to terrorist activities is definitely required,” Eliyahu said.

In addition, the minister noted that Tel Aviv is doing everything possible to return hostages from the captivity of Hamas militants.

After Eliyahu’s words about a nuclear strike on Gaza during an interview with the Kol Barama radio station, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suspended him from participating in government meetings until further notice.
