The IDF press service reported that Israel carried out strikes on a Hezbollah target in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army clarified that this was a response to the penetration of unidentified aerial objects into Israeli territory.
Earlier it became known that Israeli air defense forces intercepted two unidentified targets near the city of Haifa. Another similar object was found and neutralized near the city of Shfaram, fifteen kilometers east of Haifa. At the same time, the sirens of the air raid warning system were not turned on.
The aggravation of relations between the countries has been observed since October, against the backdrop of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. On Friday afternoon, the Israeli army announced the creation of a closed military zone near the town of Metula on the border with Lebanon.
In addition, the IDF clarified the reasons for the shelling of Lebanese territory from tanks and guns. This was a retaliatory gesture to the fire on Israeli settlements.
