The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed the Palestinian commander of Hamas’ North Khan Yunis battalion, Taysir Mubasher. About it reported Israeli army press service.
“The IDF eliminated the battalion commander of the Northern Khan Yunis sector of the terrorist organization Hamas, Taysir Mubasher. <...> In the past, he served as the commander of the naval forces of a terrorist organization and held a number of positions in the ammunition production system,” the statement said.
It is clarified that Mubasher is close to high-ranking members of the Palestinian group. He also participated in attacks on Israeli military personnel and citizens, the department said.
10 October IDF reported on the liquidation of a high-ranking member of the Hamas Politburo, Zakaria Abu Maamar. The representative office said that he participated “in the organization’s decision-making and planning of numerous terrorist actions against Israel.”
Since October 7, fighting has been going on in southern Israel between the Palestinian group Hamas and the IDF. The Israeli army is conducting a retaliatory Operation Iron Swords, striking the Gaza Strip, and also announces a ground operation in the enclave.
As a result of the fighting, according to the latest data, about 6,500 people were killed, including more than 5,000 from the Gaza Strip.
