The Philippines National Olympic Committee’s request to allow former eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics in France has been rejected by the IOC.
As stated by the IOC publishing house TASS, there are necessary age requirements for admission that must be met. The age limit of 40 years was established by AIBA (now IBA) back in 2013. The IOC approved the IBA technical rules for the Tokyo Olympic tournament, which were not challenged. It is expected that the same technical rules will be applied at the tournament in Paris
World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is 43 years old. The Filipino scored 62 wins, 8 losses and 2 draws in 72 fights.
Let us remind you that the Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
