The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia is investigating the shelling in the village of Kozinka, bordering Ukraine, reported in the press office of the committee.
“The armed formations of Ukraine fired at the border crossing in the village of Kozinka, Graivoronsky urban district, Belgorod region. As a result, an 85-year-old woman, whose house is located near the shelling site, was injured,” the report says.
On May 24, about the shelling of the Kozinki border crossing, as a result of which a woman was injured, informed Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
The day before, on May 23, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under six articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation after the attack by saboteurs in the Belgorod region, which took place on May 22. Then a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) penetrated the territory of the Graivoronsky district. Gladkov later reported that eight people were injured.
Due to the penetration of saboteurs in the Belgorod region, the legal regime of the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) was introduced, which was canceled the next day, 23 May.
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the penetration of Ukrainian saboteurs into the territory of the Belgorod region is aimed at minimizing the political effect of the loss of the Armed Forces of Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut).
In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger is indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region. The same regime operates in seven other regions – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Kursk, Voronezh, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
