The International Sailing Federation (World Sailing) has decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in a neutral status in the “Last Chance” regatta, where Olympic licenses will be distributed. Information about this is posted on the official World Sailing website.

The decision to admit Russian and Belarusian athletes along with other countries was made after a temporary ban on their participation in competitions introduced by World Sailing in March 2022 in connection with the events in Ukraine.

The Last Chance Regatta is scheduled to take place from April 20 to 27 in France, while the Summer Olympics in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. It is important to note that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) previously announced the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the 2024 Games in an individual neutral status subject to certain criteria.
