The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced the conditions for the participation of Russian athletes in the Paralympic Games in Paris. Athletes from Russia and Belarus will have to compete under a neutral flag and will not be allowed to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies. Awards won by athletes will not be taken into account in the medal count. If an athlete wins a gold medal, during the award ceremony, not the anthem of his country will be played, but the anthem of the RKR, reported press service of the committee.
Before the start of the Paralympics, the committee will appoint a special body that will check all Russian and Belarusian athletes and support staff for support of the SVO in Ukraine. Those supporting special operations or working with the military or security agencies will not be allowed to attend the games.
Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) named IPC requirements are discriminatory and unfair. The selection criteria of the international committee, added to the RPC, put Russian athletes in an unequal position compared to athletes from other countries.
Subject to the criteria announced by the IPC, the Russian delegation to the Paralympic Games may consist of 225 people, including 125 athletes.
