This week in Vologda, they started filling the ice surface at the Lokomotiv stadium. Technicians work on site all day, making only a few short breaks in the process.
At the moment, the ice height is already 2-3 centimeters, and 4-5 centimeters are needed to start skiing. At the same time, according to experts, the entire filling usually takes about three days in good weather. That is, by the beginning of next week, the ice will probably be ready.
The skaters will be the first to enter the area, who will test the ice surface during training. And already from November 12, all Vologda residents will be able to skate here – from this date the start of mass skating is planned.
Let’s add that last year the ice track at Lokomotiv was put in order at the expense of the city budget. Seven million rubles were allocated for these purposes. More than five million went to the purchase of new ethylene glycol and 1.5 million to sealing.
