In addition, IAEA employees visited the RADON radioactive waste disposal facility in Kharkiv. It turned out that he also did not suffer during the hostilities.
According to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, the level of radiation was normal, but “the scale of the damage caused to this nuclear research center is dramatic and shocking.” According to him, almost all the buildings of the complex were seriously damaged.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Russian delegation Alexander Shevchenko stated at a meeting of the UN General Assembly that IAEA inspectors, upon request, will be able to visit nuclear facilities in Sevastopol, as part of a mission to implement safeguards.
