The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand spoke about the very inclement weather over the weekend in a number of regions of Siberia, the Far East and the European part of Russia. He said this in an interview with the TASS agency.

According to Vilfand, the most uncomfortable weather is predicted in Siberia. Intense downpours will take place in Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Omsk regions and Altai Territory, and the maximum temperature will be in the range from +14 to +20, which is 4-6 degrees lower than the long-term average values. Heavy rains will continue in Primorye.

It will be warmer in the south of Russia, but bad weather there also promises to become extreme. Severe thunderstorms and hailstorms are likely on the territory of Adygea and Kuban, as well as wind intensification up to 25 m/s.

Vilfand also noted that heavy rains are expected in the north-west of the European part of Russia – in the Leningrad and Novgorod regions.

Earlier, a leading specialist of the Phobos Center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, warned of the peak of bad weather on the night from Friday to Saturday in the southwest of the Central Federal District. According to his forecasts, in places in the Kursk, Oryol, Belgorod and Bryansk regions, more than 40 mm of precipitation may fall in six hours. Bad weather on Saturday will touch Moscow only by the edge.
