The hydrometeorological center predicts frosts from 15 to 53 degrees in a number of regions

In the European part of Russia, frosts of up to 34–47 ° C are forecast in the coming days, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center. According to him, in Yakutia, the Magadan region and Chukotka, the temperature will reach minus 48-53°C.

He said TASSthat from January 5 to 9 in the Arkhangelsk region, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug it will drop to 30–37 ° C below zero, in Komi to 30–39 ° C, in Karelia to 26 ° C, in the Vologda region to 33 ° C, in St. Petersburg to 23–25°C. In the Sverdlovsk region, it is predicted down to 34°C below zero, in the Chelyabinsk region up to 33–34°C, in the Kurgan region up to 25–30°C, about the same in the Tyumen region, and in the Yamalo-Nenets, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs – up to 45–47°С frost.

Mr. Vilfand specified that in the regions of the Urals Federal District from today, January 5, the temperature is expected to be 11-20°C below the norm. In the regions of the Northwestern Federal District, the temperature will be 8–19°С below the climatic norm, and in the Southern Federal District — by 7–11°С.

According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center, from January 7 to 9 in the Vologda region there will be frosts up to 20–21°С, in the Astrakhan region up to 17–19°С, in the Rostov region up to 15–17°С.

In Moscow on January 5 predicted -4…-6°С (in the Moscow region -3…-8°С), cloudy with clearings, light snow in places, sleet. Tomorrow, January 6, it will get sharply cold to -19…-21°С (in the region -18…-23°С), it will be mostly rainless.
