Scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said “Interfax”, that in Moscow from October 27, snow and cold temperatures are predicted to reach mid-November levels. He also noted that the first snowstorm and temperature drop from -2 to -6 degrees, as well as gusty winds of up to 15 m/s are expected on Friday night. According to him, a gradual increase in temperature to +3 degrees will begin on October 29.
“The fact is that tomorrow Moscow will be between two powerful pressure formations – a cyclone, the center of which is over Western Europe, and an anticyclone, the center of which is in the north of Kazakhstan,” explained Mr. Vilfand.
He noted that on the day of October 27 the temperature will rise, but will remain at minus values from -2 to 0 degrees. Wet snow is expected throughout the day. On Saturday, October 28, a similar situation is predicted in the capital – temperatures from -1 to 0 degrees at night, from 0 to +2 degrees during the day, as well as precipitation in the form of snow. According to Mr. Vilfand, on the day of October 29, precipitation in the form of snow will weaken, and the temperature will be about 3 degrees Celsius after night values of -3 degrees.
