“This heterogeneity of weather is, of course, impressive this year. There is very little of what is called normal winter weather, which corresponds to the climate,” Mr. Vilfand told RIA Novosti.

He said that this season there are often thaws, which are replaced by abnormal frosts. Average winter temperatures are expected to be around normal. “The snow density is very high, it hasn’t been like this for several decades,” the forecaster said.
