The house became warm and clean: how the additional gasification program is going in Kuban

The editors of MK spoke with residents of settlements in Kuban about how residential buildings are connected to gas, how convenient the program works, and how much more convenient it has now become to heat houses all year round.

Creativity without firewood

Alexander Grigorievich Zavadsky is a creative person. At one time, he graduated from art school and carried his passion for art throughout his life. And now, at 74 years old, he paints pictures, composes poems and songs. She also does arts and crafts. Creates crafts from wood. Both decorative and functional – for example, hot pads. To do this, he has several woodworking machines. And the material itself is often caught from the Belaya River, which flows near the Adyghe village of Kamennomostsky, where he lives. Previously, firewood was also used, which he bought in order to heat his private house in the winter season. Now the need for lumber is due only to creative ideas – gas has arrived in Kamennomostsky!

We had to wait quite a long time for blue fuel: local residents submitted an application already in 2015. And their desires were realized only in August 2022 – thanks to the presidential program subsidizing the additional gasification of settlements near which gas pipelines run. The program allows you to build new or modernize existing distribution points, as well as extend gas pipelines not only to villages, but also to the boundaries of new subscribers’ sites. Moreover, they won’t have to pay for it. In addition, the regions offer additional benefits for a number of categories of citizens. So, in the Krasnodar Territory and Adygea there are 17 of them each. They include: large families, participants and disabled people of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, disabled people and parents of disabled children mobilized during the SVO, and others. They won’t be charged money for the pipe going into the house either.

Zavadsky has lived in Kamennomostskoye since 1956. “They brought him as a boy,” he says. Moreover, his father did not live to see gasification. In his presence they always burned with wood. Less often – coal (the chimney quickly became clogged). “But that’s okay. I injected myself without any difficulty. “You have strength, you don’t need intelligence,” the pensioner jokes. And now, at 74 years old, he continues to chop wood – only for the bathhouse, which he has no intention of giving up. However, I already felt savings during the first winter. Previously, more than 20 thousand rubles were spent on firewood during the cold season, but last winter I paid 15 for gas. And that was largely due to the fact that the cold lasted longer than usual. “And these five thousand are not lying around on the road,” he adds.

Gas in the village came not only to houses. In 2023, on May 9, a new memorial dedicated to those who died during the Great Patriotic War was opened in Kamennomostsky. It was built by the local residents themselves. The Eternal Flame, which was gasified by the Gazprom Gas Distribution Maykop company, also burns in front of it.

Four burner cooking

There was gas in the house of Vera Vladimirovna Prokopenko from the village of Bely in the Krasnogvardeisky district of Kuban. But in cylinders. I had to go to a gas station to get it on average once every two months. The price of “recharging” a cylinder grew before our eyes from 800 rubles a few years ago to 1,200 this year. And this is also minus transport costs and time, which, albeit at a difficult-to-determine exchange rate, is also expressed in ruble equivalent. Now the treasured pipe enters the house and feeds the gas stove.

“The stove was there before – connected to the cylinder. And as soon as the gas pipeline was installed, we immediately began to cook whatever we wanted right on the four burners,” says Prokopenko. She lives in a private house with her two sons. However, she herself comes from Ust-Labinsk, where she works as a medical receptionist in a hospital, usually only on weekends. Children are also often absent for work. Therefore, the current costs for gas supply, by modern standards, are somewhere at the level of a mathematical error: sometimes 28, sometimes 30 rubles per month.

However, the family expects the biggest savings in winter. When heating evolves from wood to gas. Last season, about 35 thousand rubles were spent on firewood. And the amount is not small, and the labor costs are known: “In winter, not only do you need to chop and carry it, but if snow falls, you also need to clear the path to the woodshed in order to get there at all,” adds Vera Vladimirovna.

In fact, gas as such came to Beloye earlier. Only then was it carried out according to the so-called cooperative principle. But the Prokopenko family was not willing to participate in such a common enterprise with their neighbors. Fellow villagers submitted an application for preferential additional gasification in 2021. And blue fuel was supplied to Vera Vladimirovna’s house on April 26, 2023.

“And they did everything so carefully. The pipe was probably pulled for about 500 meters. They buried it underground and leveled everything behind them so well that you couldn’t even see that anything was going through there,” notes Prokopenko matter-of-factly.

Make it in time for winter

In May, the Shashev family’s house on Lenin Street in the village of Bolshesidorovsky in the same Krasnogvardeisky district was also connected to the centralized gas supply. The head of the family, Yuri Bislanovich, spent all 44 years of his life in this village. I submitted an application for additional gasification as soon as I learned about this program.

We haven’t had to spend the winter with gas yet, but the family has already appreciated the convenience of cooking: it’s convenient and there’s no need to refill cylinders. But you still have to tinker with the heating. So far, gas has only been supplied to the kitchen. It was attached to the house, so it even had a separate stove. The second one heated the residential part. Now the brand new boiler is ready to heat the kitchen and bathroom. But he hasn’t done this yet – he hasn’t had the chance. It only heats the water.

Yuri expects to enter the coming season without firewood. “I will definitely try to have time to turn on the heating in the house before winter. I really don’t want to bother with firewood anymore. Firewood is dirt. And with gas everything is clean,” he adds.

To become a participant in the program, you need to submit an application through the State Services website or the portal of the single gasification operator connectgas.ru, having first checked the technical feasibility. If there is one, then after signing all the necessary documents, including the gas supply agreement, specialists will supply gas to your home.
