According to hydrometeorological center Russia, at the main Moscow weather station (VDNKh), the air temperature at 13:00 Moscow time is 30.8 °C. This is a record since 1988, when the temperature reached 29.3°C. However, from next week, forecasters predict up to 15°C with rain.
In the city center today, the temperature is higher than the value at the VDNKh weather station.
“On Balchug (street.— “b”) at noon 32.1°C. This is the center of the city, Balchug is the warmest place, because there are a lot of high-rise buildings. The temperature was the same yesterday at Balchug at 15:00,” said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia (quote from the city news agency “Moscow”).
However, this is not an absolute temperature record in the capital, which was recorded on August 25, 1897 – 33.9 ° C.
Earlier, the Hydrometeorological Center predicted that the air temperature for the weeks of August 22-28 would rise to 33°C. Yesterday, August 24, orange was announced in Moscow – the penultimate level of danger due to the heat. Since the beginning of August, the Hydrometeorological Center has announced this level several times. However, according to the forecaster of the Phobos Center, on September 1, up to 15 ° C, rain and strong winds are expected in the capital.
