Armenian and Russian Defense Ministers Suren Papikyan and Sergei Shoigu during a telephone conversation decided to take measures to stabilize the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Armenian Ministry of Defense informs about this.
As noted, the head of the military department of Armenia told his Russian counterpart about the situation created due to the “large-scale aggression of Azerbaijan” against Armenia.
On Tuesday night, hostilities began on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the parties made accusations against each other for the beginning of the shelling. Yerevan clarified that the Azerbaijani military carried out strikes on Armenian territory using artillery and drones. Under fire were areas on the border – Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, Syunik regions (located on the border with Iran).
In turn, Baku announced that the Armenian military fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the border.
