The figure of Vladimir Lenin after the collapse of the USSR managed to fade, said the head of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center Valery Fedorov.
“It is clear that for 30 years of deconstruction of the Soviet version of the history of our state, the figure of Lenin has faded so much,” he said.
Fedorov pointed out that earlier Lenin was considered a “superman on a planetary scale”, the one who changed the fate of mankind. Now he is perceived as just one of a number of prominent figures in history.
The head of VTsIOM also spoke. That the majority of Russians perceive Lenin positively, his figure “could not be covered with black paint.” Although there is an age differentiation, the younger generation knows less about him and his activities than the older one.
