The head of a security company received a criminal record for a peculiar idea of how to ensure security at an industrial enterprise. The man installed “bugs” in several offices, having the opportunity to regularly listen to the conversations of his superiors.
As it became known to MK, the spy equipment was discovered in February 2022 at a dairy plant in the Pushkin city district. The management of the enterprise decided to install a video surveillance camera on the second floor. The workers removed the suspended ceiling and were surprised to find that the equipment was already there – however, not at all the one that the authorities had asked for. There was installed equipment for listening to conversations. The microphones were hidden in the meeting room, in the lawyers’ room, on the balcony, and also in the corridor. Thus, whoever ordered the installation of the system could control the entire production process, and also had access to corporate secret information.
The factory manager called the police. Since access to the technical premises had a limited course of persons, the suspect was quickly identified – the head of the private security company, who was responsible for protecting the enterprise. It turned out that he hired an engineer who installed the equipment for 10 thousand rubles. True, the security guard himself until the last refused to admit his guilt – he insisted that he only acquired “jammers” that prevented unauthorized recording of the conversation. At whose instigation the guard acted, it was not possible to find out. At that time, the company was fighting for a well-known trademark for glazed curds, so that the official secrets of the administration could be of interest to competitors. But the connection of this war with spy games has never been established. And the Pushkinsky Court found the man guilty under Article 138.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“illegal acquisition of special technical means intended for secretly obtaining information”) and sentenced him to a fine of 100,000 rubles.
