President of the Russian Football Union Alexander Dyukov sees no reason to cancel the Fan ID card. At the same time, the RFU understands that the introduction of the system has affected the attendance of matches.
“Cancellation of Fan ID is the responsibility of the government. In order to ensure security, such a law was adopted. I see no reason to cancel … As for requests for simplification, this is possible, ”said Mr. Dyukov following the meeting of the executive committee of the RFU (quote – “Championship.com”).
Adjust the work of Fan ID in the direction of “simplification of use by citizens” earlier instructed President Vladimir Putin. However, the innovation is criticized by the community of active fans – fans urged to boycott matches of favorite teams after the introduction of the system.
The Fan ID Law came into force on July 1, 2022. Initially, visiting with a FAN ID was mandatory only at five Russian stadiums. From December 1, 2022, the law has been extended to all Premier League matches. Against this background, the RPL clubs recorded a decrease in the average attendance of matches.
