The Governor of the Perm Territory, Dmitry Makhonin, congratulated the new head of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, on his assumption of office. The head of the region presented Mr. Sosnin with a hammer forged at Motovilikha Plants.
“I asked the factory workers from Motovilikha to create this weapon. This hammer is a symbol of the plant, which itself is a symbol of Perm and the Perm Territory. It is also a symbol of the industriousness of the Permians, the inflexibility of the Ural character. In addition to fitness, this hammer can often be used to kick bureaucratic nonsense out of the head, ”the governor explained the choice of gift at the inauguration ceremony. He also called on the new head of Perm to “wield the hammer carefully” and “forge the future of Perm and the Perm Territory.”
Eduard Sosnin has been in charge of the regional Ministry of Economic Development since November 2020. In August 2023 participated in the competition for the post of head of Perm and according to the results of the selection, he was approved by the Perm Duma as the mayor. The previous head of Perm, Alexei Demkin, left his post ahead of schedule in connection with the transition to the regional government.
