The head of the Pentagon announced the success of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv and Kherson regions

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that Washington believes that Ukrainian forces have achieved some success in the Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
“Now we see success in Kherson, we see certain success in Kharkov,” transmits Reuters Austin’s words at a press conference with his Czech counterpart in Prague.
According to the head of the Pentagon, the United States considers this “very encouraging.”
The publication notes that by attempting an offensive, Kyiv seeks to show its Western patrons that we can change the situation by force and deserve support.
The day before, Austin reported that US President Joe Biden approved additional arms supplies to Ukraine worth $675 million.
Earlier, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya explained at a UN Security Council meeting that “the Zelensky regime tried to create at least the appearance that Ukraine could attack” on the eve of the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Ramstein. But in fact, there can be no question of any “breakthrough” of the Ukrainian troops during their “counteroffensive”, and the lands near Nikolaev, Kharkov and Zaporozhye are “strewn with thousands of corpses of Ukrainian soldiers.”
