Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said TASSthat the Russian Federation has agreed with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on the payment of the contribution for 2023. Mr. Matytsin did not name the amount of the contribution.

The head of the Ministry of Sports said: Russia has now agreed with WADA that the agency will present a contribution formula for 2025, because the Russian Federation can no longer rely on the Council of Europe, of which it is no longer a member. For the current year, the amount will be paid in the amount that Russia and WADA have already agreed upon, he added.

The last time the Russian Federation paid a contribution to the WADA budget was in January 2022. WADA intends to receive a contribution from the Russian side in the amount of $1 million 267 thousand. In November, WADA created a working group on the issue of Russia and Belarus refusing to pay.
