Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said that the department is interested in joining Belarusian teams to professional Russian leagues in almost all team sports. To start negotiations, a list of Belarusian clubs that are ready to join the initiative is required.
“We need to determine which clubs are interested in order to begin negotiations with the leaders of the professional leagues of the Russian Federation,” said Mr. Matytsin at the forum “Russia – Sports Power” (quoted from “RIA News”).
“Some experience has already been accumulated, I think we will resolve the issue with regulatory support,” the minister noted. Currently, Dynamo Minsk plays in the KHL, and the Minsk basketball club plays in the VTB United League.
As reported by Oleg Matytsin “MATCH TV”, Belarus is already working on the list of teams that can be included in the Russian football championship. In the future, the list will be agreed upon with the RFU.
