Head of the Ministry of Digital Development of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov in an interview with the publication Associated Press told how he asked Elon Musk for Starlink satellite Internet systems for Kyiv.
He clarified that he had contacted an American businessman and promised him a world record.
“I begged, I was on my knees, I asked them to start working on the territory of Ukraine. Promised them that we would set a world record. These systems were very important for our country. Currently, satellite terminals are connected to generators and guarantee the operation of the communication system during a blackout,” Fedorov said.
It should be noted that according to the publication, Musk’s company transferred about 24,000 Starlink terminals to Kyiv. Fedorov recently said in an interview with Bloomberg that SpaceX will soon supply Ukraine with 10,000 more terminals.
