Prilepin commented on the demolition of monuments to Catherine II and Suvorov in Odessa

Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin commented in his Telegram channel on the demolition of monuments to Russian Empress Catherine II and Russian commander Alexander Suvorov in Odessa. He pointed out that the dismantling takes place at night, during the curfew, when all citizens were required to stay at home.

Local authorities claim that the decision to demolish was made by electronic voting.

Odessans, according to Prilepin, comment: “Monkeys are demolishing the monument to Darwin”, “Demons”, “This is not their city, so they don’t feel sorry for it.”

Prilepin assessed what is happening as the fact that “Odessa continues to be mocked, like the rest of Ukraine.”
