Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu approved the procedure for making monthly payments to mobilized servicemen. Document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
“I order to determine the procedure for making monthly social payments to citizens of the Russian Federation called up for military service for mobilization in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” the document says.
Deputy Defense Ministers, commanders-in-chief of the branches of the Russian Armed Forces, commanders of military districts, the Northern Fleet, branches of the Russian Armed Forces, heads of central military authorities and other leaders have been ordered to ensure, from September 21, 2022, the implementation of the monthly payment to the mobilized.
From the appendix to the order it follows that monthly payments to the mobilized are made from the day they are appointed to a military position until the day they are released from it, inclusive. If the mobilized contract is concluded, payments are made before the day of its entry into force. The document also states that the amount of the monthly social payment for an incomplete calendar month is determined in proportion to the number of days worked in the month.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
Partial mobilization took place in Russia from September 21 to October 31 last year. The Defense Ministry has announced plans to call up 300,000 troops, but Russian President Vladimir Putin said 318,000 were mobilized because a large number of volunteers wanted to go to the war zone.
