President of the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” Mikhail Kovalchuk believes that the use of nuclear weapons is not currently the main threat to humanity. In his opinion, there are two threats in the world now: bio- and cyber danger. Cyber hazard can be eliminated by turning off the “breaker”, and biohazard may suggest the emergence of covid with a mortality rate of 90%, the scientist believes.
“The atomic era has passed, and the atomic umbrella that saves us today is decaying. Because they will kill us in a different way. Covid will come with a mortality rate of 90%, where out of ten cases out of nine will die, and everything will end there. You and I must understand that biohazard has become the main one. You and I live in a world in which there are two dangers: cyber and bio… With cyber danger, if it gets really bad, it is very easy to deal with it (handle.— “b”) – the switch turned off and the cyber danger disappeared,” Mr. Kovalchuk said at the Finopolis forum. The President of the Kurchatov Institute believes that nothing can be done about biohazard. “The Americans surrounded us in all the republics with biological laboratories. At first, they can make endemic viruses that destroy livestock and undermine agriculture. Here, African swine fever is man-made, I can tell you in detail,” he added.
Against this background, Mikhail Kovalchuk called for investment in the Kurchatov Institute, which deals with “living life: biology, agriculture, drugs and biotechnology.”
