The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi intends to publish a report on the results of the IAEA mission at the Zaporozhye NPP on September 6. About it reported in the press office of the organization.

“CEO Grossi on Tuesday will release a report on the situation with nuclear safety, protection and safeguards on the situation in Ukraine, including the conclusions of the organization’s mission at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant,” the statement said.

It is noted that on the same day he will inform the UN Security Council about the results of the IAEA mission to the nuclear power plant.

On September 1, an IAEA mission arrived at the ZNPP territory. Experts inspected the area, accompanied by representatives of the Russian “Rosatom” and employees of the station. The delegations also showed the sections of the facility that had suffered from shelling by the Ukrainian military. On the same day, Grossi left the station, leaving eight experts at the facility. At present, there are two IAEA specialists as permanent observers at the NPP.

The IAEA mission arrived at the station due to regular shelling of nuclear power plants during August. Russia and Ukraine are accused of attacks on each other’s nuclear facility. At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly emphasized that they do not use the station for military purposes. The actions of the Ukrainian side in the department were described as “nuclear terrorism”.

On September 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine again fired at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the blow was delivered on a special building of the station. “A container with distilled water was damaged in the immediate vicinity of the second power unit,” the military-civilian administration of Energodar said. It is clarified that there are no casualties, the work of the station is also not in danger.
