The head of the Human Rights Council Fadeev will appeal to the Investigative Committee and the FSB due to the threats of the Speaker of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to journalists

Chairman of the Russian Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) Valery Fadeev statedthat she will contact the Investigative Committee and the FSB in connection with threats to Russian journalists from a representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defense forces for an English-speaking audience, American transgender Sarah Ashton-Cirillo.

Sarah Ashton-Cirillo said that next week “the world will see Kremlin propagandists pay for their crimes.” However, she did not indicate which specific Russian journalist she was talking about.

“Ashton-Cirillo announces a quick crackdown on “Kremlin propagandists”, which will take place next week. The Investigative Committee of Russia will easily see here the signs of a crime under Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. And, given the sad experience of attempts on the lives of Russian journalists and public opinion leaders, there are also signs of preparation for a terrorist attack (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), so state security agencies should also pay attention to this,” according to the official Telegram channel HRC.

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said that information about the threats made by the speaker of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, Sarah Ashton-Cirillo, against journalists will be sent to international organizations. “We will send this further evidence of the terrorist nature of the Kyiv regime and its sponsorship by Washington to all international organizations and NGOs,”— explained Mrs. Zakharova.

Russian senator Vladimir Dzhabarov also said that the statements of the “American transgender so-called speaker of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” are “absolutely immoral, shameful and simply unacceptable.” In his opinion, Russian security forces should open a criminal case against Sarah Ashton-Cirillo as soon as possible, and the court should convict her in absentia for “public and brazen incitement of hatred, direct threats to members of the media and threats to commit terrorist acts on Russian territory.”

46-year-old Sarah Ashton-Cirillo was appointed the official English-speaking speaker of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ territorial defense forces in August of this year. Before that, for several months she participated in the military conflict in Ukraine on the side of the Armed Forces of this country, and also published reports about the fighting in blogs and the media. Before coming to Ukraine, Sarah Ashton-Cirillo lived in the USA, in Las Vegas. In recent years, she has been involved in journalism and communications, as well as writing. After visiting Syrian refugee camps in Turkey in 2015, Sarah Ashton-Cirillo wrote the book Along the Trail of Tears.
