The head of the HRC Fadeev urged to deprive migrants of parental rights for refusing to teach children at school

The head of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society and human rights (HRC), Valery Fadeev, called for punitive measures against migrant parents who refuse to send their children to a Russian school.

“Actually, in addition to rights, parents have responsibilities, they must provide their children with education. And if it is accepted in Russia that all children have an education, then they should do it too, and if not, excuse me, in my opinion, up to the deprivation of parental rights, up to that, ”said Mr. Fadeev following the results of a working trip to Kaluga region (quote from “RIA News”).

How relevant this practice is among foreign citizens with children, the head of the HRC did not disclose, but mentioned that, theoretically, migrant parents can now make such decisions.

During a meeting with the Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha on March 10, Valery Fadeev also offered give allowances to the wives of migrants only if they speak Russian.

In February, the Human Rights Council sent a sharply critical response to two “migration” bills to the Security Council and the government of the Russian Federation. We are talking about the government’s project on the legalization of foreign citizens in Russia and the draft law “On the conditions for entry (exit) and stay (residence) in the Russian Federation of foreign citizens and stateless persons”, developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
