The head of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory resigned

Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Yuri Lapshin wrote a letter of resignation, he was received by Acting Governor Mikhail Kotyukov, reported press service of the regional administration.

Lapshin said that he was invited to the post of head of the government of the region by the former governor Alexander Uss. The latter retired early on April 20. His first term as governor expires in 2023.

“For five years, I headed the supreme executive body of the region, coordinated the activities of government members. Together with them, we went through all the difficulties that the region faced during this period, worked on the implementation of priority projects, created a solid foundation for the stable development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory,” Lapshin’s press service quotes.

He noted that he considered it right to leave his post after the governor, since the chairman of the government is a “significant position.” According to him, the acting head of the region Kotyakov should have the opportunity “from the first days of immersion in this difficult work to decide who will be there.”

On April 20, Uss left the post of governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory ahead of schedule. “I got an offer [президента России Владимира Путина] continue to work at the federal level. But at the same time to deal with issues of socio-economic development of our region. I am sure that the Krasnoyarsk Territory will retain the status of one of the key regions of Russia in the future,” he wrote.

After that, the former deputy finance minister Mikhail Kotyukov was appointed acting governor of the region. On April 21, he announced that he plans to participate in the gubernatorial elections in September 2023.
