The head of the German Foreign Ministry called her words about the war with Russia a mistake

German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock called her words that the EU countries “wage war against Russia, not against each other” a mistake. About this she stated in an interview with the Tagesspiegel newspaper.

“There is a proverb that sounds: “Only the one who does not live is not mistaken,” the minister commented on her words (quote according to RIA Novosti).

On January 24, during the PACE meeting in Strasbourg, Burbock called on the EU countries to do more to support Ukraine, in particular with regard to tanks, and not to look for the guilty within the Commonwealth. She added that EU countries “wage war against Russia, not against each other.”

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova notedthat the German Foreign Ministry makes conflicting statements regarding the conflict in Ukraine and the role of Germany in it, in this regard, Moscow asks the German Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Geza Andreas von Geyr, to clarify Berlin’s position. Also Zakharova in her Telegram channel wrotethat Burbock’s words confirm the war planned against Russia in advance.

Chairman of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party Tino Khrupalla urged German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to dismiss Burbock after these words, explaining that “by his unprofessional and cheeky behavior, the Foreign Minister endangers the existence of Germany.”
