German Finance Minister Christian Lindner is going to visit Ukraine in August or autumn. Lindner announced this on Sunday to RND.
According to him, he is discussing plans for the upcoming trip to Ukraine with his Ukrainian counterpart Sergei Marchenko.
In June, Lindner announced that he had received an invitation from the Ukrainian side and wanted to go to Kyiv. “My colleague, the Ukrainian finance minister, said <...>that it would be useful for them if I, the German finance minister and the current chairman of the G7 finance ministers, visited Kyiv,” Lindner said.
Since the beginning of the Russian military operation, Ukraine has been visited by several members of European governments, including Germany.
The first German minister to come to Ukraine was German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock. She visited Kyiv and Bucha in May, met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
