The Crimean lion park “Taigan”, by agreement of the governor of the Kherson region and the head of the Crimea, will temporarily host animals from the Kherson zoo. Animals are being evacuated to the Crimea. This was announced by the head of the Taigan park Oleg Zubkov to one of the local Telegram channels.
The director of the park noted that the Crimea is a safe place, so the animals will be calmer there. Zubkov also said that veterinarians and spacious enclosures are waiting for the animals. Raccoons, donkeys, wolves, llamas and other residents of the zoo will be promptly transported.
The entrepreneur assured that as soon as the situation in Kherson normalizes and the zoo is ready to receive animals, they can be brought back at the request of the leadership of the Kherson region.
But for now, the head of the park emphasizes, they are safer in Crimea. He recalled that there is a threat of undermining the Kakhovskaya GRES. In addition, there are battles nearby and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are shelling the city.
The director of “Taigan” thanked the governor of the Kherson region for the fact that he “cares not only about people who are now having a hard time without help, but also about animals.”
Earlier, the Crimean Supreme Court overturned Zubkov’s sentence. The owner of the park was threatened with imprisonment and a fine of 255 thousand rubles.
