The head of the Communist Party faction in the Komi parliament was fined twice for the lack of foreign agency markings

The Syktyvkar city court fined the leader of the Communist Party faction in the State Council (parliament) Komi Viktor Vorobyov (recognized as a foreign agent) for the production of materials without foreign agency marking (part 4 of article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). This was reported to Kommersant by Mr. Vorobyov himself.

Decisions on bringing to administrative responsibility were issued according to two of the four protocols previously drawn up by the Ministry of Justice. Viktor Vorobyov found it difficult to clarify the amount of fines assigned to him, since he has not yet received a court decision, but in any case he intends to appeal them.

As previously reported by Kommersant, we are talking about the absence of marking in the deputy requests that the communist sent to law enforcement agencies. He himself believes that such documents are not subject to “foreign agency” legislation.

Recall that similar claims from the Ministry of Justice also arose against the second Russian deputy-foreign agent – “Yabloko” Daria Besedina (recognized as a foreign agent) from the Moscow City Duma. At least three protocols were drawn up against her under a similar administrative article.

Since December 2022, a repeated violation of the procedure for the activities of foreign agents, including in terms of the lack of marking, entails criminal liability under Part 2 of Art. 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and the verdict that has entered into legal force is the basis for the early termination of deputy powers.
