The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced the militarization of Karabakh by Armenia

During a meeting of the UN Security Council, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed concern about the scale of Armenia’s militarization of the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan. In his speech, he noted that Armenia did not fulfill its obligations assumed on the basis of the tripartite Declaration on the cessation of all military activities and the withdrawal of its forces from the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to Minister Bayramov, Azerbaijan, as a sovereign state, could not allow the illegal military presence of another country on its territory.

He explained that the Azerbaijani army, in order to protect its citizens and in accordance with international law and the Constitution, took actions aimed at suppressing systematic attempts by Armenia to change the status quo on the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan, based on the “logic of the contact line.”
