The head of Sochi presented awards to the winners of the Universiade

The head of Sochi, Alexei Kopaygorodsky, presented awards to the winners of the 2022 Universiade. Last year, more than 600 students from 15 educational institutions of the resort took part in the competition. Young athletes competed in 8 sports disciplines, the press service of the city administration said.
The Mayor’s meeting with the students took place at the FGBU “Yugsport”. Aleksey Kopaygorodsky discussed the development of sports in educational institutions with students from colleges and universities of the city. The interlocutors also touched upon the organization and holding of student competitions.
According to the press service of the City Hall, in 2023 the Universiade will be held twice – from February to May and from September to November. The competition program will include new disciplines proposed by students. Young athletes will compete in cross-country skiing, computer sports and the implementation of the TRP standards.
