The head of Rosobrnadzor denies discussing the abolition of the exam

The head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, said that the abolition of the Unified State Examination in connection with the transition to a new education system in Russia is not discussed. Earlier, State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev said that against the backdrop of a return to the traditional term of study at universities, it is necessary to abandon the exam.

“The abolition of the Unified State Examination is not being discussed, because it was about higher education, changes in the system of higher education. Everyone is used to confusing the Bologna system with the Unified State Examination,” Mr. Murzaev said at a briefing.

Anzor Murzaev said in 2022, that a return to the education system that was before the introduction of the USE is impossible, since this can lead to corruption in admission.

At the end of May 2022, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, announced that Russia would leave the Bologna system and develop its own “unique” model of higher education. In February, Russian presidential aide Andrei Fursenko admittedthat diplomas of graduates of higher educational institutions with a bachelor’s degree can be equated to diplomas of complete higher education.
