There are no prerequisites for lifting access restrictions in the Russian Federation to the social networks Instagram and Facebook (banned in the Russian Federation; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation). The head of Roskomnadzor, Andrei Lipov, told reporters about this when answering a corresponding question.
“Today there are no prerequisites for this,” he said at the site of the specialized forum “Spectrum”.
On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, recognized the American company Meta Platforms Inc. extremist organization and banned its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation. Accordingly, the social networks Facebook and Instagram belonging to it are prohibited in our country.
