The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, supported the decision of the leadership of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs to conduct checks on the facts of possible abuse of power by police officers during unauthorized rallies in the republic, reportedly on the site head of the region.

Several unauthorized actions against mobilization took place in Dagestan on 25 and 26 September. Law enforcement officers detained more than a hundred people. Videos circulated on social networks showed the use of harsh measures by security forces against protesters.

And on Friday, half an hour before the start of another protest action announced by a foreign Telegram channel, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism detained journalist Vladimir Sevrinovsky. He was also arrested, as follows from the court decision – for petty hooliganism. His sentence expires on the afternoon of October 5th.
