The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, will finance the funeral of a serviceman who committed suicide in the Ufa SIZO-1. This was reported by the press service of the head of the republic.
“Khabirov expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the serviceman Ildar B. and noted that he was in charge of organizing his funeral,” the press service said in a statement.
The press service added that the head of the republic wanted to save the military and considered him a “lost soldier.”
On August 2, a volunteer fighter, who was accused of desertion, escaped while being transported from the UK to a mental hospital for an examination. Carrying a grenade, he threatened to blow up a gas station on the Nagaevsky Highway and demanded that the criminal case against him be closed.
After talking with Radiy Khabirov, the prisoner surrendered. Later, footage of the negotiations was posted on the Internet. The video showed a man armed with a grenade, next to whom are two security officials in bulletproof vests. A couple of meters from them was the head of Bashkiria.
