On September 24, the final matches of the pre-season Major League Cup “B” ended, where Ivanovo’s “Tekstilshchik”, who in the coming season will play in the third strongest division of Russian volleyball, tested their strength before their debut at the professional level. The red-blacks won 2 victories in the group stage, securing participation in the semi-final confrontation with the team from Grozny. There they won and reached the final.
In the main match of the tournament, the Tekstilshchik volleyball players met with the champion of the Rostov region and won with a score of 3:2, leaving the team of the Southern Transport Prosecutor’s Office with the silver medals of the Major League Cup “B”. For the first time in history, the red-blacks raised a trophy over their heads and felt the weight of gold medals.
Alexey Skolobanov, who holds the post of head coach of VC Tekstilshchik, shared his emotions from the victory in the Major League “B” Cup.
“I am grateful to the players for their dedication, character and beautiful volleyball. We had a good pre-season training camp and fate rewarded us with a trophy. For many of the guys in the team, this is the first victory and I am sure it will give an incentive to reach new heights,” said the head coach VK “Textilshchik”.
