The head and mufti of Karachay-Cherkessia presented awards to Adam Kadyrov – Kommersant

The head of Karachay-Cherkessia, Rashid Temrezov, received in the republic the son of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam, and the State Duma deputy from Chechnya, Adam Delimkhanov. He presented Mr. Kadyrov with the highest award of the republic – the Order of Merit for Karachay-Cherkessia. In addition, the Chairman of the Coordination Center for Muslims of the North Caucasus, Mufti of Karachay-Cherkessia Ismail-Hadzhi Berdiev presented Adam Kadyrov with the Order of Merit for the Ummah, 1st degree.
“Ramzan Akhmatovich raised a worthy son who stands on the side of faith and truth, as his elders taught him,” Mr. Temrezov wrote in Telegram. In his opinion, “in the face of global challenges” it is important to “maintain unity within” Russia.
The decision to award Adam Kadyrov the highest award of Karachay-Cherkessia was taken at the end of October. In September, Ramzan Kadyrov published video of his son beating Nikita Zhuravel, accused of burning the Koran, in a pre-trial detention center. The head of Chechnya believes that his son “did the right thing.” Adam Delimkhanov said that he was proud of his nephew’s action. Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov refused comment on the situation.
Ramzan Kadyrov earlier announced son a hero of all Muslims. He also appropriated title of Hero of Chechnya. Adam Kadyrov was appointed head of the security department of the head of Chechnya in November. Ramzan Kadyrov occupied a similar position until the death of his father in 2004.
