The Guardian: Trump feared for his life after General Soleimani’s assassination

The British newspaper The Guardian, referring to an outgoing book by American journalists, reported that former US President Donald Trump feared revenge from the Iranian authorities after the death in January 2020 of the commander of the special forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Qasem Soleimani.
Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, authors of the new book Dividing: Trump in the White House 2017-2021, who collaborated with The New York Times and The New Yorker magazine, that in January 2020 Trump publicly characterized the Iranian general in a highly uncomplimentary manner and admitted US involvement in his death.
However, a year later, in a narrow circle, the president admitted in private meetings that he feared that Iran would try to kill him, and therefore it was safer for him to be in Washington, where he could be more secure.
