The Greco-Roman wrestling tournament ended in the capital of Pomorye. XXXXI tournament was held in the sports hall of the complex named after A.F. Lichutin. This year the competition was dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
About 100 athletes from Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk and Novodvinsk took part in the competition.
Sergey Pivkov, Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, congratulated the winners and prize-winners of the competition. The vice-governor emphasized that Greco-Roman wrestling is one of the dynamically developing sports in the Arkhangelsk region: more than two thousand people are engaged in it. There are more than 15 wrestling training halls in the capital of Pomorie.
– There are many competitions in this type of martial arts in the region. And the tournament dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is one of the most important stages in the preparation of our athletes for other competitions: regional, the North-West Greco-Roman wrestling championship and all-Russian events, – Sergey Pivkov noted.
Artyom Vyukhin, Artyom Trufanov, Evgeny Prokhorov, Stepan Palkin, Ivan Izmailov, Savely Zarevin, Kirill Khudyakov, Alexander Pereshnev, Kirill Shimkovich, Mikhail Arkhipov and Daniil Lichutin became the winners of the tournament in their weight categories, the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region reports.
