In Russian football, the winter off-season is coming to an end. The team was without competitive practice for three long months and only trained, but in a few days the official matches will return. In early March, the season resumes in almost all professional leagues in Russia. This time, even teams from the Second League resume the championship in March, and not in early April, but all attention will be focused on Mir-RPL, where the championship race has intensified for the first time in a long time.
On March 1, the spring part of the 2023-2024 season begins for FC Rostov. Last season, Valery Karpin’s team performed well and fought for the latter for medals, but missed out on victory in the final round. During the 2023-2024 season, the results of FC Rostov dropped significantly. The yellow-blues will enter 2024 taking 10th place in the MIR-RPL standings. In the winter, FC Rostov strengthened itself and played several excellent test matches, but the results will be visible closer to the end of the season.
In the home match against Krylia Sovetov, which is scheduled for March 1, a graduate of Ivanovo football can play. Goalkeeper Sergei Pesyakov was the main player in Valery Karpin’s team for some time, but a decline in play and a series of mistakes allowed the competitors to seize the initiative and take Sergei’s place. All winter Sergei trained and worked on himself. Now he is definitely ready to compete for the position of the main goalkeeper.
