Governor of the Yaroslavl Region Mikhail Evraev plans to meet with the former mayor of Rybinsk, ex-general director of NPO Saturn (now PJSC UEC-Saturn) Yuri Lastochkin, who last year was released from a colony where he was serving a sentence for corruption. Evraev said this in an interview with Vedomosti.

“I don’t know him personally, but the feedback about this man from everyone I spoke with was positive. That is, it was at least five people, and everyone spoke positively, everyone. I haven’t heard any negative feedback. Thank you so much for reminding me. I may have been a little twirled in the routine, because I had the idea to meet him. I think that if he has a desire, we will, of course, think about how we can make sure that he returns to the system in order to be useful for the Yaroslavl region. On April 22, 2022, Yuri Lastochkin was released from strict regime colony No. 17 in Krasnoyarsk, where he was serving a sentence in a criminal case on bribery and embezzlement on an especially large scale. In 2015, the Rybinsk City Court sentenced him to eight and a half years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 140 million rubles. Subsequently, the fine was reduced to 20 million rubles.
