Governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoyt urged residents to stay home during the New Year holidays. He attributed this to the “turbulent situation.” He recalled that the region remains at a yellow level of terrorist threat and the use of pyrotechnics is prohibited.
“I urge you to stay home and spend time with your family and friends. I also urge moderation and restraint during the upcoming holidays. Our closest neighbors (in Belgorod.— “Ъ”) terrible grief – this is our grief now,” Mr. Starovoyt wrote in Telegram.
Yesterday, December 30, Belgorod came under fire from Ukraine. As a result, according to the latest data, 24 people died. The Ministry of Defense stated that the strike was carried out by two Vilkha cluster rockets, as well as Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.
In support of Belgorod, several regions of the Russian Federation abandoned mass celebrations and fireworks. This decision was made, in particular, in Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok, Voronezh region, Magadan and in populated areas Kamchatka.
