The Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin today reacted to the situation with the Wagner PMC. In his Telegram channel he published an appeal in which, among other things, he called on natives of the Perm Territory serving in the ranks of a private military company to obey the orders of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Perm Territory — together with the President and with all the fighters selflessly defending the Motherland on the front line! Vladimir Vladimirovich in his address clearly outlined the position on what is happening. Completely agree with every word. Now we must be united. The situation in the region is calm, all necessary security measures have been taken. Now informational provocations are possible – trust only official information. In PMC “Wagner” there are our countrymen. Do not succumb to provocation, follow the orders of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Remember that your relatives are waiting for you at home and are very worried,” Governor Dmitry Makhonin said.
Also in Perm, the work of the recruitment point in the Wagner PMC, which has been opened in the Angel fitness center since the beginning of June, has been suspended. The center reported that in connection with the latest actions of the Wagner PMC, the activities of the center for testing the physical qualities of volunteers in the North Military District were suspended until the full legal settlement of the issue.
“But we continue to help our guys! We are not on anyone’s side, we want to be useful to our country and state,” the center said.
On the evening of June 23, the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin accused the Ministry of Defense of hitting the positions of his fighters, and then announced the nomination of 20-25 thousand people in order to “sort things out.” The military department called these messages a provocation. By the morning of June 24, Yevgeny Prigozhin announced that he had taken control of military facilities in Rostov.
