The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, addressed his subordinates at an operational meeting with a recommendation to refuse vacations abroad, emphasizing that this also applies to the heads of administrations of districts and municipalities. At the same time, he noted that if colleagues do not have other restraining factors, one can also remember about conscience.
Paying attention to the issue of self-discipline, Starovoit, expressing understanding of the need for rest as such, said that a two-three-week vacation in the current conditions is “too much”, but a vacation abroad is “generally unacceptable.” At the same time, he expressed disappointment with how some local officials reacted to his recommendation.
“In the government of the Kursk region, my colleagues heard me, but I see such statements from the leaders of the district and municipal levels. Heads of districts, municipalities, let’s be more restrained in this, after all, there must be a conscience,” the governor appealed to his colleagues.
Previously, the behavior of individual representatives of local authorities attracted the attention of the public far beyond the region. In particular, the published video report on the vacation in Mexico of the deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma Maxim Vasiliev caused a great resonance.
